The Body As An Expanded Field

I really liked this lecture and found it interesting how the body can be used in art.  I was a little horrified by the experiences that Chris Burden .  I appreciated the fact that he was willing to go so far for his art, but shouldn’t there be a line drawn somewhere?  I also really liked a piece by Marina Abramovic called Imponderabilia, where her and another artist called Ulay stood naked in the doorway to an exhibition forcing the patrons to squeeze past them.  The purpose was to see the reactions of the patrons as they moved into the exhibition .  I really like the way this artist uses her own body in it’s most simple form to provide the art.  I’d never heard of this artist before and I found it really interesting looking further into her work.

The table for a revolution brief is now finished.  The work is on display within the university.  Pictures of the finished pieces are below.  We have now had a new brief called Space and Light.
